PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE IN MAIZE & WICHITA, KS
KEEP UP WITH MAINTENANCE. KNOW WHAT’S NEXT.
Keeping your vehicle maintained shouldn’t mean guessing what’s due—or buying a package because the odometer hit a round number.
At Gearhead Autoworks, we base maintenance recommendations on your vehicle’s requirements, service history, condition, and how you drive. From filters and fluid exchanges to the everyday items that keep your vehicle ready for the road, we’ll explain what’s due, what can wait, and why.
Just bought the vehicle or missing its service history? We can help establish a starting point and put a plan together.
All services and repairs performed at Gearhead are reported to CARFAX, so the work becomes part of your vehicle’s documented service history.
FLUIDS, FILTERS & THE EVERYDAY STUFF.
An oil change is one part of maintaining your vehicle. Other fluids, filters, and wear items need attention too—but what’s due depends on what you drive and what’s already been done.
We can help with:
• Engine air filters and cabin air filters
• Serviceable fuel filters, including diesel fuel filters
• Brake fluid and coolant exchanges
• Transmission fluid and filter service, where applicable
• Differential and transfer case fluid service
• Hydraulic power steering fluid service, where equipped
• Wiper blades, exterior bulbs, and washer fluid
• Scheduled spark plug, belt, and tire rotation services
We check the manufacturer’s requirements and available service history, then consider the vehicle’s condition before recommending work. Every item on this list isn’t due at every visit.
You’ll know what we recommend and why before you approve the work.
WHAT’S DUE & WHEN
Thirty thousand miles doesn’t mean every vehicle needs the same services. Neither does sixty thousand or one hundred thousand.
We reference the maintenance requirements for your specific vehicle, review the available service history, and consider how you use it. Towing, short trips, extended idling, and dusty conditions can change which manufacturer service schedule applies.
Then we explain what’s due, what needs checking, and what can wait.
No mystery mileage package. Just a clear plan for your vehicle.
FLUID EXCHANGES & SERVICE
MORE THAN ENGINE OIL.
Your transmission, cooling system, brakes, and drivetrain have their own fluid requirements. The correct specification and service procedure matter just as much as the interval.
Depending on your vehicle, we provide:
• Brake fluid exchanges
• Coolant exchanges
• Transmission fluid service and filter replacement where applicable
• Differential fluid exchanges
• Transfer case fluid service
• Hydraulic power steering fluid service where equipped
We match the service to the vehicle’s requirements. We also look for concerns that need attention before treating a fluid change as the answer.
Already noticing slipping, overheating, a leak, or another symptom? Tell us when you book so we can address the cause.
AIR, CABIN & FUEL FILTERS
SMALL ITEMS WITH DIFFERENT JOBS.
Engine air filters, cabin air filters, and fuel filters serve different systems. Their replacement needs depend on the vehicle, filter condition, and applicable maintenance schedule.
We service:
• Engine air filters
• Cabin air filters
• Serviceable fuel filters, including diesel applications
Not every vehicle has a separately serviceable fuel filter. We check what yours actually uses before recommending replacement.
We also use BG Frigi-Fresh alongside cabin-filter service. You may notice a fresh scent at the first startup, but it isn’t a lasting fragrance treatment—and it doesn’t replace changing a dirty filter.
WIPERS, LIGHTS & WEAR ITEMS
Maintenance includes the small things you rely on every time you drive.
Streaking wipers. A burned-out bulb. An empty washer reservoir. A belt showing wear. These deserve attention without turning a routine visit into a long list of unnecessary work.
We can check or address:
• Wiper blades and washer operation
• Exterior bulbs and lighting concerns
• Belts and hoses
• Battery condition and terminal concerns
• Tire condition, wear, and rotation needs
• Scheduled spark plug replacement
Some items are replaced by mileage or time. Others depend on condition. We’ll explain which applies and help you plan accordingly.
BG PRODUCTS AT GEARHEAD
A PURPOSE FOR THE PRODUCT.
We carry BG products for specific maintenance and service needs, including:
• Battery service kits
• EPR
• MOA
• 44K
• Dynamic Engine Restoration
• Frigi-Fresh
These aren’t an automatic bundle added to every visit. We’ll explain any recommended treatment, why we’re recommending it, and what it adds to the service before you approve it.
The vehicle’s requirements still come first. A treatment doesn’t replace scheduled maintenance or diagnosing an existing problem.
REAL SERVICE. A RECORDED HISTORY.
ALL GEARHEAD SERVICES & REPAIRS ARE REPORTED TO CARFAX.
The work you authorize should become part of your vehicle’s history.
Gearhead Autoworks reports all services and repairs we perform to CARFAX—from routine maintenance to larger repairs. That creates a record of work performed here that you can refer back to as the vehicle ages.
Our Vehicle Health Report adds another layer: photos and findings that help you understand the vehicle’s condition and the recommendations we make.
The service record documents what was done. The inspection helps explain what we found.
And when you return, we can compare today’s condition with earlier visits, keep an eye on developing concerns, and help you plan what comes next.
NEW-TO-YOU VEHICLE?
LET’S FIGURE OUT WHERE YOU STAND.
Bought a used vehicle with a thin stack of receipts—or no records at all?
You don’t have to guess your way through maintenance. We can review the history you have, check the manufacturer’s schedule, and inspect the vehicle to help establish a starting point.
Missing records don’t automatically mean every service is overdue. Some items can be evaluated by condition; others require a decision based on the schedule and what can be verified.
We’ll walk you through the priorities so you can make an informed plan.
ALREADY HAVING A PROBLEM?
START WITH THE CAUSE.
A warning light, overheating concern, unusual noise, shifting problem, or persistent leak needs a closer look.
Tell us what the vehicle is doing before booking a maintenance service. We’ll help determine whether it needs routine service, diagnosis, or repair.
Fresh fluid or an additive isn’t a substitute for finding out why something is wrong.
Find the cause. Explain the solution. Fix what needs fixed.
ONE SHOP FOR WHAT COMES NEXT.
Maintenance sometimes leads to another question. Uneven tire wear may call for an alignment or suspension inspection. Low coolant may mean a leak needs attention. A starting concern may need battery, starter, or charging-system testing.
Gearhead can help with routine service and the repairs that come with keeping a vehicle on the road.
